Our Position: We are a small localized network of highly skilled craftsman & general handymen providing quality home improvement services with reasonable pricing. Our experienced team can handle any home improvement project posted on our service list. We have over 25 years experience and are fully insured for our customer’s protection as well as our own. We operate within a select range of suburbs and the north side of Chicago. We pride ourselves on being the best in the handyman business, because that’s who we are.

Handyman….the stigma! Yep, we’ve heard it all before. We know that most of our new customers are skeptical of hiring a “handyman.” Unfortunately, the home improvement industry, and especially handymen have been labeled as unscrupulous at best. We not going to change who we are, were going to change your opinion of who we are.

We earn your trust. The reality is that we can tell you who we are (versus who were not), but until we provide you with our level of service, and satisfactorily complete your project at a fair price we haven’t earned your trust. Once we earn your trust, we can build a stronger relationship and provide you with worry free service.

The competition: We have three types of handyman competition in the area. There is a growing number of “handymen” competing for a limited number of jobs in the area. A majority of the growth can be attributed to the construction slow down in our area. These guys are typically out of work and generate side business to supplement their income. Typically they are uninsured; they don’t advertise and try to work for cash.

Handyman Franchises are the polar opposite of your fly by night handymen. While they do provide a much higher quality service level, their pricing is unjustified. Since the handyman typically earns 50% of the service total, these geniuses have doubled the cost to home owners. Good for them, bad for the home owner.

The reason I wouldn't recommend Handyman Connection is because I feel their prices for their services are totally outrageous.

Just want to pass this on to those tempted that a call to Mr. Handyman would ... and b) to let other people know what a scam this is (at premium prices). ...

The original handyman services in the area are still around, but they have slowed down due to the amount of competition in the local market. Unfortunately, some of these smaller legitimate handyman services are dying off.
